Scholarly generates a methodology, structural outline, and gap analysis tailored to your topic.

How it works

Your step by step guide

Follow these seven steps from topic to submission. Each step tells you what to do and exactly how to do it.

Step 1

Enter your topic

Type your research topic into the search bar above and press Design my research.

How

Be specific, e.g. The impact of remote learning on undergraduate engagement. A focused topic produces a more tailored design.

Step 2

Review your research design

Scholarly generates a methodology, data collection methods, analysis techniques, sample, ethics, and timeline.

How

Read the summary first, then check each section. Note any methods you would adapt for your own context.

Step 3

Arrange your facts

Follow the structural outline to see which facts go in each section and how to group them logically.

How

Use the grouping principle and transition tips to move smoothly from one section to the next.

Step 4

Find your research gap

Review the identified gaps and use the strategy to pinpoint what makes your work original.

How

Search the recommended databases. Choose one gap that excites you and aligns with your resources.

Step 5

Save as a project

Click Save as project to turn your design into a working project in your dashboard.

How

This stores your topic, design, outline, and gaps as a draft you can keep developing.

Step 6

Add your citations

Open the Citations tab and add your sources. Choose APA, MLA, Chicago, or Harvard style.

How

Switch between referencing styles at any time using the style toggle. Every reference is formatted instantly.

Step 7

Export to Google Docs

When your draft is ready, export it to Google Docs for final polishing and submission.

How

Use the Draft and Export tab. Your linked Google Doc stays in sync as you save updates.
